From Serving Our Country To Serving Our Members: Devante Franklin

Devante joined the Navy Reserves in 2011, deploying to Afghanistan in 2013 and again to Kuwait and Qatar from 2018 to 2020. His military career focused on logistics – a role that placed him at the heart of critical operations. While deployed in Afghanistan, he worked alongside U.S. Special Forces and Afghan National Army units, coordinating troop movements and ensuring essential supplies, materials, and rations reached their destinations safely. His job required frequent travel to remote Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) to manage customs clearances and provide non-combat equipment support. Later, during his deployment to Kuwait and Qatar, Devante oversaw the decommissioning, sale, and disposal of military equipment, ensuring compliance with strict regulations. Through it all, he learned the value of precision, accountability, and adaptability under pressure – skills that seamlessly transitioned into his civilian career.

Now serving as a Cybersecurity Analyst, Devante continues his mission of protecting and serving – this time by safeguarding the digital infrastructure that supports our operations and, ultimately, our Members. His leadership philosophy, shaped by the military practice of mentoring from the top down, shines in his commitment to helping those around him grow, strengthening the entire team and building a culture of shared success. Devante’s personal mission remains clear: “faith and family,” a guiding principle that influences both his work and his dedication to those he serves alongside.
